Pennrose Opens New Jersey Affordable Senior Community

Pennrose Gloucester County, The Housing Authority of Glassboro and the other partners in the project have opened Village at Harmony Garden in Glassboro, N.J., a 65 unit affordable Senior Housing community.
A $20 million redevelopment transformed the 10-acre site, which was formerly known as Ellis Manor into an affordable community for seniors. The new development is geared towards seniors 55 years and older who earn 50 percent or less than the median income in their area. Rent will be supported by GHA vouchers for all units.
The redevelopment financing team included the New Jersey Housing & Mortgage Finance Agency (NJHMFA), Bank of America, Federal Home Loan Bank of New York (FHLBNY), County of Gloucester, New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, and Borough of Glassboro. The project was designed by and included engineering, architectural and planning services. The property is Energy Star certified and has won the 2022 Supportive Housing Association Project of the year award.
There are 13 units reserved for people with disabilities who are not restricted by age.
